My therapy approach is integrative, I form therapy sessions based on your unique needs and experiences. As a foundation, I use a humanistic approach-meaning I take time to understand your story and experience. Through this framework, I help build awareness of your inner experience and how it connects to your relationships, behaviors, and challenges. Once a deeper understanding of your experience is explored, I incorporate mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and narrative techniques. Through this process, I support you as you shift from old maladaptive patterns to a more balanced & self-compassionate way of being.
Clients can expect that sessions will at times be challenging and rewarding. As a counselor, my role is to help clients process concerns, build self-awareness, identify and replace maladaptive patterns of thinking, and promote behaviors that lead to optimal well-being.
Understanding the therapy process is key in successful therapy outcomes. In order to ensure a good fit between client and therapist, I offer a free consultation prior to beginning sessions. This is a 30-minute meeting to discuss your present issues, history, goals, and to clarify any questions you have about therapy process.
Overall, I consider the most important aspect of therapy as being the genuine and respectful relationship between client and therapist. I am passionate about my work, finding great reward in helping clients overcome barriers and find meaning in their lives.
